Mahogany Book Case

Material: Pattern Grade South American Mahogany
Finish: Hardwax Oil

About the piece:

The mahogany bookcase, measuring at 106” long, required a lot of thought into how to make a stable and strong piece without sacrificing any of the sleek modern aesthetic. Luckily, Mahogany is a wondrous material that through its tight grain pattern, can drive a lot of intrigue simply through its lustrous sheen. This piece was constructed totally without plywood, which is uncommon when a backing board is required. We utilized traditional floating screw methods to allow the hardwood back to freely expand and contract into the top and bottom shelves while still providing stability, strength, and balance to the entire piece.
